Frequently Asked Questions 20010-20011 PLEASE READ IN ITS ENTIRETY 1. When is tuition due and will I receive a monthly statement? Tuition is charged to your account on the first of every month and is due by the 10th of the month. You can enroll in our secure monthly auto-pay program and we can email your monthly statements if requested. You can also pay by Check or Credit Card at the desk on a monthly basis. We do not produce monthly statements unless requested. 2. What can be found online? Everything that is required monthly or throughout the year including information updates and forms. www.sauconvalleydance.com 3. When do RECITAL tickets go on sale? Ticket sales are usually in mid May. This year we wanted to reward those who registered early so we established a first registered first to purchase system. New students will be inserted using the lottery system we used in the past to be fair. Time slots are assigned for Saturday morning and will be passed out to the students, in class, well in advance. 4. Do I need to purchase a specific brand, style or color of shoes, tights, and leotards? You can find our policy regarding style and color in our handbook which is also available online. Our policy is that shoes and tights for each class must be uniform for a professional and consistent look, especially for recital. Brand is important as the color selection, by brand, can vary. We have gone to great lengths to provide the best quality dance attire at very competitive prices to you at our own DanceShop. You can speak to our staff at the reception area or preview these products at www. sauconvalleydance/danceshop.com. We also have created catalogs that are located on each floor in the waiting areas. All order forms are at the 2nd Floor Reception area. 5. Why can’t we view our child’s class every week? We have learned through past experience that the students act differently when either parent is allowed to observe on a weekly basis. For that reason we do NOT allow weekly observation, however, we have established parent visitation and viewing in February so you can see how your child is doing. Depending on class size we may even offer different night for Mom and Dad this year. Our teachers welcome any questions you might have about your child’s progress throughout the year. 6. Where can I park? We have a parking lot in the rear that can be accessed from Water Street. We ask that you angle park and pull up as close to the fence as possible so cars can enter exit more easily. There is parking along Main Street, in the front of the building, and we are in the process of petitioning the town to establish a designated drop off and pick up area directly in front of the studio. Should you park and need to cross Main Street, please use crosswalk at the lights. 7. When do I pay my costume fees? Costume statements will be distributed the last two weeks of September. They cost anywhere from $60-$75 per costume, depending on the class. A deposit of $45 per costume is due by Nov 15th. The remaining balance is due January 3rd. All costumes must be paid in full no later than January 3nd, or a 10% late charge will be assessed per costume. If the payment is not made, we can NOT order your child a costume, and they will not be able to participate in the recital. 8. Where can I find information on the studio? (example: studio closings, announcements, upcoming events, etc.) All information that is presented to the student is also posted on our BULLETIN BOARDS on both the first second floor. Please bookmark our website as all information will also be posted online. www.sauconvalleydance.com 9. When is picture week? Picture week is in April. We present picture packets usually two weeks before to your child in class. During that week, the photographer comes into the studio and takes the girls pictures in their costumes during their scheduled class time. We ask that you stay while your child is photographed so you can leave when they are done. Full makeup and hair is required. Pictures packets will be delivered to your child usually in 2-3 week while in class. 10. Are we required to purchase a minimum number of tickets for the recital? No, we do not require our students to purchase a minimum number of tickets. However we do require that you purchase a ticket for your child if they intend watch the show. 11.
